Lord, I want to obey You, but I often prefer my own way dressed up as a good reason. Your word says obedience matters to You more than any offering I could bring. Show me where I have been negotiating with You instead of simply following. Give me a willing heart, not grudging compliance, and the courage to do the right thing even when it costs me. Where I have been disobedient, lead me back gently rather than crushing me with guilt. Help me trust that Your commands are for my good, even the hard ones. Make me quick to obey, Lord, out of love rather than fear. Amen.
