A prayer for you

Prayer to Let Go of Someone

For the hard release of someone you cannot keep holding on to.

a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
Ecclesiastes 3:6 (WEBBE)

Lord, I am trying to let go of someone I cannot keep holding on to, and it is one of the hardest things I have done. Your word says there is a season for everything — a time to hold on and a time to let go; help me believe this is the time to release rather than grip. Loosen my hands and my heart, gently. Take the hope I keep rekindling for something that is not mine to have, and replace it with a peace I cannot find on my own. Heal the part of me that equates letting go with failure or with not loving enough. Bless them as I release them. Give me the strength to walk forward, Lord, and to trust that what I surrender to You is not lost. Amen.
