Lord, I do not feel much of anything right now. The colour has drained out of everything — I move through my days on autopilot, watching my own life from behind glass, and even praying feels like speaking into fog. I cannot summon the feelings I think I am meant to have, not toward my life or toward You. Your word meets me here: I search in every direction and cannot find You — and yet You know the way that I take. So I have not slipped off Your radar, even though I have lost all track of You. I am not asking You to switch my feelings back on like a light; I am asking You to keep me safe in the flatness until something in me thaws. Steady me through the days that feel like nothing. Help me keep doing the next small task, and let one safe person see how empty I am. You know my way, Lord, when I have lost it entirely. Be my anchor until the feeling returns. Amen.
