Lord, we are in the middle of the adoption process, and it is a strange, hopeful, exhausting in-between — the paperwork, the waiting, the hopes raised and the disappointments, a child we love already and cannot yet hold. Your word calls Your people to care for the vulnerable and the parentless, and I believe this is part of that calling. Give us endurance for a process that keeps testing it. Steady us through the uncertainty, the things outside our control, the timelines that are not ours. Watch over the child who may become ours — and over the birth family whose loss is woven into our hope, whom it would be so easy to forget. Where there is grief on every side of an adoption, bring Your tenderness. Give us wisdom for the decisions, and peace in the waiting. And guide each step toward the child You have for us. Carry us through, Lord, however long it takes. Amen.
