Lord, an operation is coming and the run-up to it is wearing on me. Your word steadies me — my times are in Your hand. So I lay this procedure, and my own body, into Your keeping. Quiet the nerves that spike whenever I let myself think about it. Give the consultant and her team clear heads and careful hands on the day. While I am in that deep, managed sleep and aware of nothing, keep me. I cannot script how it ends; I can rest in the One who holds my days. Comfort the people who will sit and wait for me. However it turns out, stay with me. My times are in Your hand, Lord. Amen.
