Lord, I am unwell, and being sick has a way of shrinking my whole world down to how my body feels. The psalmist's words are mine: have mercy on me, for I am weak; heal me, for even my bones feel weary. I ask You honestly for healing — You are able, and I will not pretend I do not want it. At the same time, I place the outcome in Your hands rather than demanding it on my terms. Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses caring for me, and patience to me when recovery is slow or uncertain. Where there is pain, bring relief; where there is fear, bring peace. Be near me in this, Lord, whatever my body does. Amen.
