Lord, we pray for our brothers and sisters around the world who suffer for following You. Your word tells us to remember those in chains as if we were chained with them; so we refuse to forget them in their hardship. Strengthen believers facing prison, violence, and the loss of home and family for their faith. Give them courage that does not break, and a sense of Your nearness in the worst moments. Provide for the families left behind, and sustain the underground churches that meet in danger. Soften the hearts of those who persecute them. Forgive us when our comfort makes us indifferent. Hold the persecuted church, Lord, and let their faithfulness stir ours awake. Amen.
