A prayer for you

Prayer for My Wife's Protection

For the moments you feel how little you can guarantee her safety.

In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you alone, the LORD, make me live in safety.
Psalm 4:8 (WEBBE)

Lord, I love my wife, and there are moments — her walk to the car after dark, a journey alone, a world that is not always safe for a woman — when I feel how little of her safety is truly in my hands. Your word says that You alone make us dwell in safety and lie down in peace; so I give You what I cannot control about her days and nights. Watch over her when I am not there. Let her move through the world alert but not afraid, and let her sleep in real peace. Surround her with good and trustworthy people. I will not pretend I can keep every harm from her, but I can place her, again and again, into hands far stronger than mine. Keep my wife safe, Lord, and let her rest secure. Amen.
