Lord, Your word gives me the very thing I most want my wife to hear right now: you are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you. Make those words land as truth and not flattery, because they are true to me — through the lost hair, the pallor, the body this treatment has worn thin. She is wondering, on the hard days, whether she is still lovely; let Your word and my love answer her together, louder than the mirror. Carry her aching body through the worst of the chemo. Lift her spirit when the calendar of treatments looks endless. And keep my devotion plain and constant enough to drown out every lie this illness tells her about her worth. She is beautiful to me, Lord, and beloved by You. Hold her there. Amen.
A prayer for you
Prayer for My Wife During Chemotherapy
When chemo changes how she looks and feels, she may wonder if she's still lovely to you; let love answer.
