Lord, my son is being consumed by addiction, and no terror compares to watching your boy harm himself while you stand helpless. Your word says the troubled cry out and You hear and rescue; hear this parent's cry. I plead for his freedom, through a road I know is long and full of setbacks. Wake in him the will to get clean and the openness to accept proper support — a programme, counselling, others who have walked out of this. Put people in his path who can reach the places I cannot. Spare me from being buried in guilt or shielding him from every consequence that might wake him up. Show me the line between love and rescue. Rescue my son, Lord, and never stop chasing after him. Amen.
