Lord, my son just left for an interview in a tie that is not quite his yet, and I am still standing at the door he walked out of. Your word says, may You grant him his heart's desire and bring his plans to pass; so I send my hopes after him down the street. Carry the nerves of a young man stepping onto his first real rung. Let the people across the desk see past his thin résumé to the character I know is there. Give him grace to handle a no without it crushing him, and humility to handle a yes. Keep him certain, whatever today holds, that he is already someone we are proud of. Bring my son's hopes to pass, Lord, in the work that is meant for him. Amen.
