Lord, they have put a terrible word over my son today, and every cell in me wants to take it into my own body instead — to walk into this fire in his place. But I cannot go where he must go, and that is the hardest thing I have ever had to accept. So I give him to You, who promise that when he passes through the waters You will be with him, and the rivers will not overwhelm him, and the flame will not consume him. Be the One in the fire with my boy where I cannot be. Hold the parts of him that are afraid, and the parts of me that are breaking as I watch him. Give his doctors wisdom and us the next right step. I would carry this for him, Lord; since I cannot, carry him Yourself. Amen.
