Lord, my sister is pregnant, and I am overjoyed to be walking this with her. Your word records the blessing once spoken over a pregnant woman — blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you carry — and I gladly speak that kind of blessing over my sister and her baby. Be with her through the wonder and the weariness of these months. Quiet the fears that come, especially in the small hours, and surround her with people who help and encourage. Where I can be useful — a listening ear, a meal, a hand to hold — make me willing. I cannot promise her an easy road or a particular ending, and I would not want to give her words only You can make good; I can love her, pray for her, and entrust her and her little one to You. Bless my sister, Lord, and the child she carries, through every step of this. Amen.
