Lord, my son is in open rebellion — slamming doors, breaking rules, fighting me on everything, pushing against every limit I set. I am exhausted and often angry, and I do not always handle it well. Your word calls me to correct with gentleness, trusting that perhaps You may grant a change of heart — perhaps, in Your timing, not mine. So cool my temper before I make things worse. Help me hold firm, loving boundaries without turning our home into a war I have to win. Show me the hurt or fear that is so often underneath his defiance, and let me reach for that instead of only the behaviour. Keep me from saying the thing I cannot take back. I cannot force my son to change, and I will stop trying to; I am asking You to work in him in ways I cannot. Give us both grace for today's battles, Lord, and keep the door between us from slamming shut for good. Amen.
