Lord, my mother is growing older, and I find myself worrying now in the way she once worried over me — the falls, the long days alone, the frailty creeping into someone who always seemed unshakeable. Your word promises that even to grey hairs You carry, that You have made and You will bear and deliver; so carry the woman who carried me. Watch over her in her home and on her own. Send good neighbours, kind carers, and people who check on her when I cannot be there. Steady her steps and guard her from the harm that frightens me most. Let our changing roles draw us closer rather than break my heart. I cannot keep every danger from her, Lord, but You can be near her always. Carry my mother. Amen.
