Lord, my mother has been diagnosed, and something foundational has shifted — the woman who held the whole family steady is suddenly the one who needs holding. Your word says You have been our dwelling place for all generations, and I need that to be true now, across the very generation that raised me. Be her shelter as the news sinks in, and mine too, because I feel strangely like a child again, frightened for my mum. Steady us both through this disorienting first stretch. Give her doctors wisdom and us a clear next step. Help me be strong for her the way she was always strong for me, without pretending I am not afraid. You have housed our family for generations, Lord; hold my mother now, and all of us who love her. Amen.
