A prayer for you

Prayer for My Husband With Cancer

Loving someone through cancer is its own kind of tired. This prayer is for you as much as for him.

My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:26 (WEBBE)

Lord, the man I built my life beside is unwell, and I am frightened of a future I always pictured with him in it. When his strength fails, be the strength of his heart. Meet him in the quiet hours when he hides his fear so I will not worry, and let him feel that he is still strong to me, still mine, still loved. Hold our home together when the appointments and the worry crowd out the ordinary days we took for granted. Teach me how to be his comfort without pretending I am not afraid too. Whatever comes, keep us tender toward each other and held by You. Amen.
