Lord, my husband is up for a promotion, and I find myself wanting it for him almost more than he does. Your word says a man skilled in his work will stand before those who lead; he has worked hard and quietly, and I long for it to be seen. If this step is right, prepare him to carry it with humility and not let it swallow our family's time. If it passes him by, guard him from discouragement and comparison, and guard me from resentment on his behalf. Let his worth in this house never rise or fall with a title. Help me cheer him on without adding the weight of my expectations. Honour the work of my husband's hands, Lord, in whatever way is truly good for him. Amen.
