Lord, my husband runs his own business, and the weight of it lives in our house — the five a.m. starts, the invoices that pay late, the way one bad week shadows his whole mood. Your word says whatever our hands find to do, to do it with all our might; he gives it everything, and I love him for it. Help him make sound calls under pressure, stay honest when cutting a corner would be quicker, and keep his head when the cash flow frightens us both. May the work be fair to the people it employs and serves, and may it never quietly become the thing he loves more than us. Carry my husband through the lean stretches, Lord, and let his labour bear good fruit. Amen.
