Lord, my grandmother is having an operation, and at her age every one of these feels heavier on all of us. Your word pleads that You would not abandon us in old age — do not abandon her now. Quiet her before she is wheeled away, and let her feel cherished and never rushed. Grant the surgeons real wisdom for a frailer, older body and gentle hands. See her safely through the sedation and into the slow mending afterwards. Thank You for her long life of love; see her through this chapter of it. The result rests with You and them, not me; I trust my grandmother to Your faithfulness. Be tender with her, Lord, in there and after. Amen.
A prayer for you
Prayer for My Grandmother Facing Surgery
At her age, every operation carries more weight and more worry.
“Yes, even when I am old and grey-haired, God, don't forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation.”
