Lord, the chemotherapy is taking a hard toll on my grandmother, and I want it said plainly, over her and before You: her children rise up and call her blessed, and so do her grandchildren. She is woven through every good memory this family has. So as the treatment strips her down, hold on to the truth of who she is — not a patient, not a burden, but the blessed heart of all of us. Carry her through the sickness and the weariness. Let her feel honoured in the small indignities of care, never diminished by them. Surround her with the love she spent decades pouring out, flowing back to her now. And on the days she feels she is only taking, remind her she is still giving us more than she knows. Bless my grandmother, Lord, as she has so long blessed us. Amen.
A prayer for you
Prayer for My Grandmother During Chemotherapy
As chemo wears your grandmother down, it can feel right to remind her — and heaven — exactly who she is.
