Lord, a close friend of mine lives with chronic pain, and so much of what they endure stays hidden from everyone around them. Your word calls us to shoulder one another's burdens; let me help shoulder theirs instead of leaving them to bear it solo. I ask for relief and healing for them, hopeful and honest, while entrusting to You what I cannot alter. Ease the pain that drains them, and lift the isolation of a condition no one can see. Help me take them at their word when they hurt, keep turning up over the long haul, and not drift off when it wears on. Lead them to clinicians who listen and real help. Carry my friend, Lord, through pain that never fully eases, and let them feel less alone. Amen.
