A prayer for you

Prayer for My Father Who Is Grieving

Some fathers grieve quietly, out of sight. Bring even the sorrow he will not show here.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (WEBBE)

Father of mercies, my own father is grieving, and he carries it the way he carries everything — quietly, where no one can see. Reach the sorrow he hides behind his strength. Be the God of all comfort to a man who has spent his life comforting others and does not know how to be the one who needs it. Give him permission to weep and a safe place to do it. Let me draw near without crowding him, and let him feel, through me, that he is loved and not alone. Comfort my father in this tribulation, and through him teach me how comfort is meant to flow. Amen.
