Lord, we are waiting on my daughter's results, and patience is in short supply in a house holding its breath. Your word remembers one who waited patiently for You, and You turned and heard his cry — so I am waiting, and asking You to turn and hear ours. Steady my daughter while the not-knowing drags on, and keep her from filling the silence with the worst she can imagine. Steady me too, so that I do not pass my dread to her across the dinner table. Slow my reaching for the phone and my rehearsing of bad news. Turn to us, Lord; hear the cry I can barely put into words. And whatever the results bring, let them find us still waiting on You, and held. Amen.
A prayer for you
Prayer for My Daughter While Waiting for Test Results
Waiting on your daughter's results, the patience you ask of her is the patience you can barely manage yourself.
“I waited patiently for the LORD. He turned to me, and heard my cry.”
