Lord, my daughter is precious to me beyond words, and the thought of anything harming her can steal my breath. Your word asks You to keep us as the apple of Your eye and hide us under the shadow of Your wings; so I ask exactly that for her. See her the way I do — irreplaceable — and watch over her body, her heart, and the company she keeps. In a world that is not always safe or kind to young women, give her wisdom, good instincts, and people who will look out for her. Where my fear races ahead into every terrible scene, calm me; I cannot stand guard over her every hour, and I refuse to bargain for a life with no risk in it. Hide my daughter under Your wings, Lord, and keep her as the apple of Your eye. Amen.
