Lord, my daughter is through the surgery, and Your word is suddenly my own: You have been our strength and our shield, our hearts trusted in You and we are helped, and so my heart greatly rejoices — with my song I will thank You. Now hold us through the slower work of healing. Guard the place they mended, keep infection away, and give her body the quiet it needs to knit. Make me a patient nurse and a calm presence on the sore, fretful days. And while we wait to learn what the surgery found, keep gratitude louder in me than fear. You were our shield when we had no defence of our own; be our strength now, through the long recovery. Thank You for my daughter, helped and here. Amen.
