Lord, of all the things I want for my children, the deepest is that they would come to know You for themselves. Your word recalls a faith handed from a grandmother to a mother to a son — and I pray that the faith I try to live becomes, in time, genuinely my children's, and not just an heirloom they were handed. I cannot believe for them, and I refuse to force it; a faith coerced is no faith at all. So let me plant seeds and leave the growing to You. Make Yourself real to them in moments that have nothing to do with me. When they question, or drift, or push hard against everything I believe, be patient and stay near, the way You have been with me. And let what they see in me make You look worth knowing — honest, kind, unthreatened by their hardest doubts. Win my children's hearts, Lord, gently and truly, in Your own way and time. Amen.
