Lord, I bring You the man I am seeing, and I want to love him with my eyes open. Your word prays for love that overflows with knowledge and discernment; give me exactly that — affection that is wise, not blind. Help me know him truly, the good and the growing edges, without painting him as more than he is or excusing what concerns me. Draw him closer to You and grow his character, and do the same in me. Where we are good for one another, let it ripen; where we are not, give me the clarity and the courage to face it rather than cling. Keep me from settling because I am afraid of being alone. Bless this man, Lord, and lead me in wisdom about us. Amen.
