Lord, there is a baby growing inside, and I find myself talking to them already — a heartbeat the size of a whisper, fingers and features taking shape in the dark, a person forming kick by kick. Your word says You are the One who makes and forms us in the womb. So I picture Your hands in the hidden work on this child: shaping the tiny heart, the curl of an ear, the spark of who they will be. Be near my baby in there. Let them feel, even now, surrounded — wanted before they are born, prayed for before they have a name. As they grow week by week, knit them together gently and well. And whenever they are restless and I feel them move, let it remind me that You are nearer to them than even I am. Form my baby, Lord, and keep them safe in the dark until I can hold them in the light. Amen.
