Lord, I am asking for Your protection over our home and the people inside it. Your word says that unless You watch over the house, those who guard it watch in vain; so I do not want to rely on locks and alarms alone, but on You. Guard this household against what would harm it — from outside and from within. Keep those who live here safe in their coming and going, and let these walls be a place of security and rest. Where I am anxious about intrusion or danger, settle me with the knowledge that You keep watch while we sleep. I cannot make our home immune to all trouble, and I will not pretend otherwise; I can ask the One who never slumbers to watch over it. Guard our home, Lord, and all who dwell in it. Amen.
