Lord, we lift up the elders who shepherd and oversee our church. Your word calls them to shepherd Your flock willingly and not for gain, as examples rather than bosses; give them exactly that heart. Grant them wisdom in the weighty decisions they carry, often behind the scenes. Guard their character and their unity, so they lead with one mind and genuine love. Protect them from pride, from politics, and from the discouragement of criticism. Help them care for the souls in their charge with both truth and gentleness. Sustain our elders, Lord, in a demanding and often thankless calling, and let their leadership bless our whole church. Amen.
