Lord, the house is quiet now in a way I am still getting used to — the children grown and gone, and a strange mix of pride and grief sitting in their empty rooms. Your word pictures You as a shepherd who gently leads those who have their young; lead me gently through this passage. Thank You for the years of raising them; help me release them into their own lives without clinging or guilt. Where my identity was so wrapped up in being needed, show me who I am now. Give me new purpose, rekindled relationships, and things to pour myself into. Comfort the ache of the quiet, and turn this into a season of its own kind of fullness. Lead me gently, Lord, into this next chapter. Amen.
