Lord, I am asking You for a new job, and I will be honest that the wanting is tangled up with worry — about money, about being chosen, about how long this might take. Your word asks You to establish the work of our hands, so I bring my hands to You: ready to work, unsure where. I am not asking You to hand me one particular door and call it Your will; I am asking You to lead me to good and honest work where I can provide and do something worthwhile. Steady me in the waiting, and keep me from measuring my worth by a job title or a salary. Give me favour where it is right, the humility to keep trying where it is not, and enough for today while I search. Establish the work of my hands, Lord, whatever shape it takes. Amen.
