Lord, more than almost anything, I long for a healthy baby — and I am going to ask You for that plainly, because You invite us to bring our deepest hopes to You. Your word shows Jesus taking children into His arms and blessing them; so I bring this child to You for that same blessing. Watch over their development, every cell and system forming as it should. Protect them through pregnancy and birth. But I also know I cannot wring a promise out of You, and that a healthy baby is not a reward for praying hard enough — so I hold this longing in open hands. Whatever I come to learn about this baby, and whoever they turn out to be, help me love them fully and trust You with them completely. I ask You for health, Lord, and I entrust the answer to You. Bless this child, however they come to me. Amen.
