Lord, as I lie here in the dark before sleep takes me, my thoughts turn to You. Your word speaks of remembering You on the bed and thinking of You through the night watches; let my last thoughts tonight be of You rather than my worries. Thank You for being with me all through this day, seen and unseen. In these quiet minutes, I rest in the truth that I am held and loved. Where the day left me anxious or stirred up, settle me. Let me drift off not counting my problems but resting in Your presence. Stay near me as I fall asleep, Lord, and through the whole night. Amen.
