Lord, I have a hard conversation ahead, and I am tempted either to avoid it or to go in swinging. Your word tells me to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger; steady me to do exactly that. Help me say the true thing without cruelty and hear the hard thing without defensiveness. Guard my tongue from the words I would regret, and my heart from needing to win. Let me come seeking understanding, not victory, and able to own my part rather than just press theirs. Where there is real wrong to address, give me courage; where I am simply proud, give me humility. Make me a peacemaker in this conversation, Lord, not a combatant. Amen.
