Lord, as night falls, I ask for Your protection over my home and everyone in it. Your word says I need not fear the terror of the night; so I refuse to let the dark hours fill me with dread. Keep watch over this house while we sleep — over the doors and windows, and over each person resting here. Guard us from harm we cannot foresee, and quiet the anxious thoughts that grow louder at night. Let us sleep under Your care rather than our own worry. I cannot stay awake to keep us safe, but You never sleep. Watch over us through this night, Lord, and bring us safely to morning. Amen.
